How Can I Learn to Be a Hypnotherapist?

QUESTION: Hey Erick,
What school did you go to to learn
hypnotism? I've been planning on going to University of New Mexico for hypnosis, but I'm clueless about where to start. I know there are a lot of independent schools. Can you make some recommendations?

ANSWER:
My two personal recommendations for Hypnosis Certification Training are as follows:

Gerry Kein in Deland, FL, at www.OmniHypnosis.com, or

Cal Banyan in Tustin, CA at www.HypnosisCenter.com

They are both excellent teachers and schools...the best of the best! Also, they have co-authored one of the best books available on the subject of clinical hypnosis, Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

By the way, the expressions “hypnotherapist” and “hypnotherapy” are falling out of use because they are potentially misleading unless the practicing hypnotist is actually a licensed therapist. More often you will now see the terms, “Certified Hypnotist” or “Consulting Hypnotist” which both equally convey basic certification training in clinical hypnosis.
